Anodising is a process that converts a metal surface into a decorative, durable and corrosion-resistant finish. It creates a product that is smooth and pleasant to touch, with colour and sheen. Anodising preserves the appearance of the part which prolongs the aesthetic life of the finish, as well as giving surfaces an electrically insulated coating. Aluminium anodisers improve corrosion resistance.
Natural anodising (silver finish) is the most widely used and gives a smooth transparent coating. However, a colour can be used when anodising, including blue, green, black and bronze.
Most anodised products have an extremely long life span and offer significant economic advantages through maintenance and operating savings. Scars and wear from fabrication, handling, installation, frequent surface dirt cleaning and usage are virtually non-existent.
Exterior anodic coatings provide good stability to ultraviolet rays, do not chip or peel, are easily repeatable and improve corrosion resilience. Anodising creates an abrasion resilient and dirt repellent surface that is excellent for hygiene standards.
Orgbar Aluminium can give you a variety of different finishes on your component by polishing, brushing or bead blasting the part before the anodising process.
